HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Mark and Paula Wood family!
We are a family that knows how to have FUN TOGETHER!!! We have been reunioning at Carlsbad beach for the past 25 years! LAST YEAR WAS THE BEST! Paula’s father and mother have rented condos on the Carlsbad beachfront since 1980 and began taking the whole family soon thereafter. As the families have grown up and begun having children/grandchildren of our own, the number of family members at the reunion has ALSO GROWN! Finding places for everyone to stay has been a challenge.
LAST YEAR WAS OUR BEST! Mark and I rented your Golden Fantasy Mansion for our children and grandchildren to stay in and WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! In fact, your amazing property exceeded our expectations! The rooms were beautiful and roomy. The floor plan was PERFECT for putting little ones to bed and then having plenty of space for the adults to play games together and visit to “catch up” with each other! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, plates, cooking utinsels, etc. The yard was fun too! We had a little tea party on wrought iron furniture in the front. One day we had Great-grandma and great-grandpa come for a celebration of their 60th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! Your home is now part of our FAMILY HISTORY!!!The location was fantastic…minutes from the beach! Could go on and on and on……
VERY IMPORTANTLY, both of you were wonderful to work with and we feel that we have new “friends” in you!
We are all planning on another GREAT YEAR NEXT YEAR!!!

Thanksgiving, 2011 ~
Karin, I just wanted to let you know what a great time our family had at the mansion! It was the perfect setting for our Christmas reunion... The decorations were beautiful, and we especially loved all the Victorian Santas. Both the kids and adults loved looking at all of your treasures... (Of course my 14-year-old nephew would have liked to take the pirate skeleton home, but we reminded him about the new checked baggage limitations...) ;-) The layout of the home worked out perfectly for us. There was more than enough room for everyone to sleep, with plenty of privacy for the adults in the group. Thanks again for your helpful suggestions and being so accommodating! It was great to have such a large dining table for Christmas dinner, and the airbed you set up for us in the downstairs bay window alcove was perfect (my niece said it was very comfy, and the comforter set was beautiful). And it was a real bonus to be able to park so many cars off the street (your driveway is huge!). Being just seconds off of the 5 freeway was ideal for those of us who live locally and were coming and going. It was really a wonderful place for a large family reunion, and we'll all have many happy memories of our stay... Thanks again for everything! Barbara
Hi Dan and Karin,
We had a great time at the Golden Fantasy Mansion.
The home itself was very unique and offered hours of entertainment just to tour the property, viewing the beautiful antique furnishing and hollywood movie memorabilia . . . It exceeded our expectations and was a pleasant surprise in comparison to what one would normally expect from a vacation home rental. We all had plenty of space, privacy and the attached Granny Flat was perfect for our multiple family set up.
The location was perfect, centrally located and just minutes from all the great vacation venues which Southern California has to offer.
Things we did, just to name a few:
Disneyland
Lego Land
Wild Animal Park
Sea World
Deep Sea Fishing (Carlsbad and San Diego)
Many trips to the beach for fun & sun
FIne Dining
Shopping
Needless to say, it was a memorable, fun filled, wonderful time for all. Thanks again for being so accommodating and attentively catering to all our needs.

The Golden Fantasy Mansion was just the right place for our 27th anniversary. With 12 kids it offered enough room and plenty to interact with around the property and visits to the beach. After our children left, we enjoyed the elegance and serenity of a quiet peaceful vacation."

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Golden Fantasy Mansion. The rehearsal dinner was a fun success -- we had about 40 people in attendance, and the space was perfect for the event. The setting was a lot of fun and drew many comments from our guests.
We tried our best to treat your home as our own, and enjoyed spending time there with family and friends.
I'm not sure when we will return to S. Ca. Our children are in N. Ca and the east coast, so that is our current planning for future visits.

"WE RECENTLY SPENT A FANTASTIC WEEK AT THE ROBIN HILL HOME IN SAN MARCOS, CALIFORNIA. WE HAD FAMILY FROM FLORIDA, COLORADO AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ARRIVING TO CELEBRATE A GRANDSONS HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION. HIS FAMILY LIVES IN NORTH ESCONDIDO. THE ROBIN HILL HOME WAS PERFECTLY LOCATED-CLOSE TO THE ESCONDIDO H.S., ESCONDIDO C.C., CAL STATE SAN MARCOS, HWY 15 AND HWY 78. WE HAD BEDS FOR 14 BUT AFTER THE 1ST. NIGHT ALL THE UNDER 20'S MOVED BEDROLLS TO THE ENORMOUS FAMILY ROOM TO TALK THE NIGHTS AWAY. WHAT GREAT MEMORIES WE ALL GAINED. THE AMBIANCE OF THE HOME WAS RELAXING AND BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED. What a unique stay! San Diego, CA

What a unique location, our family had a wonderful time. The house is full of interesting antiques, and everyday there was a new "hey come look at this!"
Everything was nice and clean, the house is amazingly sound proof providing a good night sleep and stepping out with a cup of coffee onto the upstairs porch in the morning was delightful, especially with the view of the ocean a few blocks over and the visiting hummingbirds.
The evening were also a joy, sitting around the kitchen and dining room with a glass of wine and music in the background, how relaxing.
The owners were so wonderful! They even were able to help use when we were locked out late one night.
We would definitely recommend this to friends.Recommended for: families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Dear Dan & Karin,
Thank you for being gracious hosts. You accommodated our every need and made our stay at your mansion very memorable. The Golden Fantasy Mansion was the perfect vacation rental for our family reunion to create the long lasting memories that we had hoped for. We had family come to the reunion from Oregon, Northern and Southern California, Arizona, Utah, and Illinois. It was very important for us to have a place to gather with large rooms where we could spend some quality time together as a family. Like many families, ours loves to eat together and we had some wonderful meals in the upstairs family room with the roomy kitchen and the beautiful view of the lagoon and ocean. The master and the lovers’ bedrooms were both ideal for our mature couples and the turret bedroom with the two queens was perfect for one of our young couples with two younger children that they needed to keep close by. The granny flat enabled us to give the older children and teenagers their own space to hang out and sleep which saved some our sanity.
The Carlsbad location was just what our family wanted. The close proximity to the beach, the fantastic weather, and access to all the fun things the San Diego area has to offer ensured that our family had an endless supply of things to do. Between visiting the Wild Animal Park, the Zoo, Sea World, and going to the beach a number of times, nobody complained about being bored. In fact, many have commented on just how much fun they had. We had one raining afternoon and the rest of the time was sunny, warm and just simply beautiful. As it turned out the New Year was not a bad time for a reunion in San Diego. All our other reunions have been elsewhere and in the summer. Thanks again! We had a great time!
